Firetruck bed, new preschool

Today was a very happy day for Alani.  She started the brand new preschool at Pacheco.  Look how excited she was that morning to go to school at the same place her big sisters go!  Her words tonight: "I love my new preschool".  It doesn't get much happier than that.

And Anu got his new firetruck bed, thanks to Mark and Lindsay!  He is so excited.  The funny thing is all his big sisters are jealous.  One wants a pink firetruck bed like his, one wants a neon green racecar bed, and I'm not sure what else was wanted, but lots of things were.

Robb didn't have time to put it in the bedroom till later, but Anu napped on it anyway in the living room.

Oh, and here are the lyrics to the song "BINGO" according to Anu:  "There was a farmer who had a dog and Bingo was his name-o, H, I, J, K, K, H, I, J, K, K, H, I,J,K,K and Bingo was his name-o".  We think he is so adorable and don't want him to stop being so darn cute.  He said he wants to buy a big Diego set for his baby brother.  Here's hoping he still wants to after the baby arrives.....

Check out my sister's blog

Check out this blog.

My older sister Diana and her husband Joel are in the process of adopting a boy from China. If any of you know about how hard the adoption process can be, you will understand the challenges they face.  The boy they are bringing home this summer is ten years old now, and is named Chun Bai.  He willl be called John in English.  He has some special needs, including albinism, and low vision.

Kaimana tiene siete anos

Mana turned 7 in the middle of winter, but she wondered why it felt like summer.  It was the 100th day of school and it was 75 degrees that day here in SLO.  Usually it rains on her birthday, and we have to cancel her parties, which we've always had at the park.  But not this year!  We have a house big enough to actually host a few kids over, so that is what we did. She had a movie and pizza party and invited 7 of her Pacheco buddies over.  She really enjoyed it.

Mana got her rollerblades as an early birthday present, along with a new helmet.  Thanks Mailani for the hand-me-down skates!  She's been using them for the past month, and went from knowing nothing about skating, to being able to skate to our park solo.

She loves the nice smooth paths in our complex, but for some reason the kids also like to go cross-country.
