Have you ever...

Have you ever washed a used pull-up in your laundry? Well I just did. Don't know how that happened, but I'm glad I caught it before it went through the dryer.

Personalized flower quilt

Just finished my latest blanket, a flower quilt with the baby's name. This was using the 99 cent fabric from the Fabric Barn in Solvang - what a score.

handmade Scrabble Tile Pendants

I love the scrabble tile pendants made by HomeStudio on Etsy (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5753249&ga_search_query=homestudio&ga_search_type=seller_usernames). These make great gifts, young and old alike. My girls are going crazy over them, Kawai has picked out 4 ones she wants for her birthday: a yoga one, an owl one, a cat one, and another cat one. We got this one for our Twilight lover's Sweet-16 this week.

Cold hula dancers

Well the Waterfest at Morro Bay was very cold, but nevertheless, the girls did a great show in their costumes which did not provide too much warmth. The south side of Morro Rock provided a nice background though. That's Kawai in the front center, and little Mana is the short blonde to the right of her.

This Saturday, WaterFest at Morro Bay

Come check out the WaterFest 2009 at Morro Rock on Saturday (http://slowaterfest.org/). Kawai and Mana will be dancing hula on the stage at 11:30. The kids will be the first dance show of the day. The fun for families begins at 10 am.

Equador

I told Kawai I thought the sheep were really cute. She said her teacher told them that if they were having trouble drawing sheep, to just draw a cloud and add legs, a head and a tail. What a great idea, I think it came out really well. I think the teacher showed them pictures of when she was in Equador.

And the winner is...

...Mana!!! She won the drawing at the Dentist for the giant Triceratops. See how proud she is?

Papasan nest

I couldn't help myself when I saw a Papasan chair posted on Freecycle. Don't ask me how we made room for such a beast in our living room/dining room/computer room/play room/everything room, but Robb is a space genius and always makes room for the things that I really want. I have always loved papasans, and was thinking with only one couch that we all fight over, the papasan would be really useful especially when our little boy comes. So far it has become the girls' favorite chair, and luckily they all fit in it together.
