WenWen Han Haircut #2

Last year I cut Kawai's hair in the asian layers style that WenWen Han had in the movie Karate Kid 2.  Well, finally it was Mana's turn. We were a little nervous to cut off her blond wavy hair that we love so much, but she was ready for a change on New Year's Day.  2012 is the year to "go all out" and make transformations.  So Mana was the guinea pig on big changes.  She's happy with it, so that's what matters.

Here's what Mana looked like right after the haircut. She hadn't really even seen it yet, but she was pretty excited about it.  She had been begging for the hairstyle ever since I gave it to Kawai, but we thought it  might not work on blond hair.

This was Kawai's version of the same haircut done November 2010 when she was in the 3rd grade.  It's amazing how fast her hair grew in a year, I pretty much forgot she even had this hairstyle, since at some point during the year we cut off the long portions.

Sports, sports, sports

Kawai's basketball league started up just before Christmas.  It's fun watching her learn to play and do pretty well at it.  We love that we have a basketball court at our new home. And Mana is so happy, we finally have a tennis court.  She has always wanted to play tennis, we're not sure why.  So, we finally got some kids rackets and we all went out to play.
Kawai is number 5 on team Liberty.  It is an 8-9 year old team, all from Pacheco.

Our little sports guy, he's happy with any kind of sport.  He's taking right to tennis already. Although anytime he throws a ball, he throws it like he's pitching a baseball and lifts his leg.

Our happy tennis player.  Since her grandpa Bob was an excellent tennis player while in the service, we expect that Mana will be quite good too (:-).

Enjoying the holidays

The kids seemed to enjoy their Christmas gifts, nobody complained, and nobody said they wished they had gotten something different.  These matching sweatshirts of the girls were a big hit.
We had tried to ride the carousel downtown for Xmas eve, but alas, it had already closed, so here we were on the monday after Xmas to ride it.  Poor Anu, he didn't get to ride, he fell asleep on our way there.

Christmas in our new home

We had such a wonderful Christmas, that we didn't even have a chance to take a picture. I did manage to take a photo on Christmas eve to show the tree.  We all really enjoyed hanging out for our first holiday in our new home, and MorMor was able to join us as well.  Sorry no people photos though!
This year we were able to set up our 7.5 foot fake tree which we have been storing for so long since it didn't really fit in the condo anymore.  But here at our new home, there was plenty of room!
