La Piscina

Kawai's been at Pacheco's Spanish camp these past couple of weeks, and Mana's been at the Kinder Boot camp. Both girls are having a blast at these wonderful camps provided by their school for free. I just saw a sample of work Kawai did today, explaining why the swimming pool is her favorite thing in the whole world.

Somos el Mundo, Tiny Tiger Grad, Star Farms

We've had a fun week. Mana graduated from her preschool called Tiny Tigers at SLO Highschool. Now that she's all done with it, she says it's the best school ever and wants to go back.

We also got to attend Kawai's first play, in her Second Grade class, which was a patriotic themed play about the U.S. and they sang numerous songs, including Somos El Mundo (We are the World, which was my 6th Grade Graduation song - the English version of course!). Kawai was an Estudiante in the play and had about 6 lines to memorize which she did great at.

We also got to hang out at one of our favorite local beaches, Star Farms, for a High School Graduation party. It was Keanu's first time in a lake. I don't think he noticed the tiny fish biting at his feet, which kind of freaks me out. It's fun to pretend you're on a tropical island even though you're in the middle of a hay farm in Paso Robles. It's pretty cool.

Mana can bike, Anu can swim (well not really)

This weekend was fun-filled. Mana decided she was ready to try biking without her training wheels, and she was successful! Anu got to dip in a pool for the first time at 9 months old. He enjoyed it. We had friends visiting, so hung out at Avila, and did smores and other fun stuff.

Tie Dye experiment

I finally got to experiment a little this weekend. I can't wait to do some more, I was just trying to figure out the different patterns you can make. I want to make peace signs and hearts, but haven't attempted that yet. I don't know what it is about tyedie that I love so much, but it brings back good memories of growing up. We did some cool tiedying for our Cross-Country team in high school, and it sort of became our uniform. That was a lot of fun.

The crawler and the climber

Mana's been the climber since she was 9 months old. At 9 months she was climbing our entire staircase. Now she likes to climb up the bannister and slide down it.

Anu on the hunt for catfood in the yard. He's going to be our next climber, I predict. He's got 2 weeks until he's 9 months. He made it up a small set of stairs on Sunday. He will probably make it up our stairs in the near future.
