This land is your land

Mana chose to be a pilgrim at the Thanksgiving feast in her kindergarten class. Isn't she the happiest pilgrim you've ever seen? The singing was so cute too. They sang This Land is Your Land, in both Spanish and English, along with some other songs. Mana had requested that we bring her favorite dish, mashed potatoes and gravy, to the feast. So, like a great daddy, Robb was able to make that in the morning and he cleverly packed the potatoes and gravy into little containers with lids. I could not have pulled that off as well as he did. The teacher said that the kids could go home early with their parents after the feast, and Robb was prepared to bring Mana home with him. But, of course, she chose to stay at school for the rest of the day. She loves school so much, she says it's funner than home!

WenWen Han hair style

WenWen Han

So Kawai watched The Karate Kid (2010) and decided she wanted the haircut that the actress Wenwen Han has. So, figuring I didn't have that much to lose, I gave it my best shot....It's basically a bob with the innerlayer still long, alloying you to put it in ponytails or braids or whatever....it's an asian layers style popular in Asia and Guam...

It's a perfect style for Kawai because she loves long hair for braiding and stuff, but she hates brushing all her hair...she never even reaches her inner layers with the brush and they become ratted really easily..this way she can reach the inner layers without even trying (:-)....

Hula and Halloween

A Groovy girl and a fairy ballerina (2nd costumes.)

Pumpkin seed slime was a hit with Anu!

Oktoberfest hula show

It's been a fun and busy month. Lots of hula. Lots of Halloween. Each girl wore at least 2 Halloween costumes over the week's activities. Luckily Mr. pumpkin isn't into changing clothes as frequently as his 3 big sisters, and we only had to dress him in one costume...a cute fuzzy pumpkin. We thought he might be walking by Halloween and if you call taking 7 steps in a row walking, then he made it that day.
